Ndzerem Stephen Njodzeka, a dedicated humanitarian and visionary leader, left an indelible mark on the lives of countless individuals through his unwavering commitment to social change and development. Hailing from Bui Division in the North West Region of Cameroon, he embarked on a journey of impact that spanned over 28 years in the nonprofit sector.
Stephen began his academic journey at the University of Yaoundé, where he earned a degree in private law. His passion for education led him to become a tutor at College de La Salle in the East Region of Cameroon.1992 - Planting Seeds of Hope. He Founded Hill-man Charity with hands that built bridges and a heart that saw potential in every struggling child. "We rise by lifting others" became his silent anthem. His entrepreneurial spirit was matched by a profound sense of responsibility, prompting him to establish Hill-man Charity, which dedicated a portion of the company’s profits to assisting disadvantaged and vulnerable children, offering them hope amidst adversity.
1997 - Lighting the Beacon: He transformed compassion into action through SHUMAS, becoming guardian to 10 million souls across borders. Where others saw challenges, he saw divine invitations to serve. As Director, he spearheaded over 5,000 projects, positively affecting the lives of more than 10 million people both within and beyond Cameroon. His leadership was characterized by a strong focus on sustainable development, problem-solving, and community empowerment.
Stephen's commitment to lifelong learning led him to acquire various certifications in sustainable development, strategic planning, and environmental management from prestigious institutions such as the University of Colorado, the University of Illinois, and California-Berkeley College of Natural Resources, he varried one constant truth True knowledge is measured by the lives transfoormed, not by degrees earned. His contributions earned him numerous accolades, reflecting his status as a respected figure in the humanitarian sector.
How his spirit lives in our shared tomorrow, He served as the president of the Nso Village Development and Cultural Association for seven years and played a vital role in the reconstruction plan committee for the North West Region of Cameroon. Furthermore, he represented civil society organizations in fostering cooperation between the people of the North West region and the community of Philadelphia.
