Stephen Mfoome was a visionary leader and humanitarian whose life’s work significantly impacted thausand’s and is celebrated for his contributions to community development through his role as the Director General of Strategic Humanitarian Services (SHUMAS) Cameroon. SHUMAS, an organization he led with dedication since its inception in 1993, focused on crucial community development sectors such as education, healthcare, agriculture, and more. Stephen Mfoome was deeply admired for his compassionate approach and commitment to humanitarian causes, evidenced by SHUMAS’s impact on over 50 communities within Cameroon.

Mfoome's efforts not only included initiating projects in diverse sectors but also extending aid to displaced families and constructing essential healthcare facilities. His dedication earned him several accolades, including a Gold Labour Medal of Merit and the honorary title of Ntungnfor from the Nkwen community.
